This a translated guide from a Corean player. If you want to train your farming and freezing skills, go here.
Hi. I play Lo in Corea with the screen name ‘심해의요정’ and I’m in diamond 3. I’m writing this post to explain to all players how to easily freeze your lane in LoL.
Freezing is the process of letting enemy minions outpush your own without letting them reach your tower. This way you’re safe from ganks and you’re putting enemy players at risk from ganks by your jungler. What’s more, in some cases you can even zone it.
Keep at least 4 mage minions alive and leave them out of range of your tower.
Keep at least 4 mage minions alive. If you kill minions too fast, your minions will push towards the enemy tower. Inversely if you kill all the minions too late, they will reach your tower and the lane will reset. By watching this video a few times you should get a grasp of the correct timing.
If there are many mage minions you can tank their attacks a little while waiting for your next wave. In doing so you can freeze the lane indefinitely. Of course, you need to be able to tank them without too much difficulty.
Here is the complete video. In this game, I froze the lane for about 5 minutes.
Learning to freeze isn’t very complicated, but many players can’t help but keep constantly attacking enemy minions and ending up pushing constantly due to a lack of patience when they would gain a lot more by freezing. By freezing you’re taking advantage of this generalised impatience. I think we’ve all been face to face with a player who froze and we can probably all agree it’s the most frustrating thing in the world.
